RAF Trade Group 11 Association

Introduction

The RAF Trade Group 11 Association was founded on 15th March 2008 to provide a membership organisation and the focal point for ex Trade Group 11 personnel.

Trade Group 11 formed part of a Network of the past. It has been absorbed by the NEC (Network Enabled Capability) a network of networks to distribute information.

Our forces have always been adaptable to technological change. From swords and lances; to rifles and machine guns; and to rifled artillery and laser guided bombs.

Now it is the turn of Information Communication Technology (ICT).Initially runners and messengers on horseback, semaphore with flags, the telegraph and Morse code, analogue telephones, radio.

Microwave, SATCOM, digital phones, video technology, automated text readers, NEC is at the forefront of this ever more rapid evolution.
